Abnormal Rainfall in New South Wales OVERBURDENED STREAMS By Telegraph—Press Aesn. —Copyright. (Received Jan. 24, 9 p.m.) Sydney, J.. 24. The flood menace to various south coast points continues owing to the streams being unable to carry off the abnormal rainfall. Search is proceeding for the bodies of those drowned at Stanwell Park. Many other camping parties, fearful of further trouble, have abandoned their camps and gone home. The railway and roadway to Stanwell Park are still blocked and the neighbouring colliery centre, Coalcliff, will experience some difficulty in maintaining food supplied Rain continued all night long. Lightning set fire to a house in the East Hills early this morning. DROUGHT RELIEVED Good Rains in Queensland Brisbane, Jan. 24. Good rains over a wide area of Queensland have relieved conditions which amounted almost to a drought. The Condamine River is five feet over the railway bridge at Yandilla and is still rising.
