Mr. C. J. B. Norwood returned from the South Island yesterday morning. '• Mr. Leo du Chateau arrived from the south by yesterday morning’s ferry Mr. R. Ivan Lamb, who has been staying at the Hotel St. George, has returned to Christchurch. Mr. R. H. Nimmo. who spent his aunnal holiday at Waikanae, returned to Wellington yesterday. Mr. A. W. Nisbet, secretary of the Wellington Aero Club, returned from Napier yesterday. Major-General W. L. 11. SiuehiirBurgess, General Officer Commanding the New Zealand Military Forces, has left ,on a visit, to Invercargill, where lie will inspect the Southland Regiment. He will return on Friday. The Hon. T. S. Gordon, member of the New South Wales Legislative Council, and managing director of Messrs. Birt and Company, Ltd., Sydney, has been appointed Australian director of the Federal Steam Navigation Company, Ltd.
