PILLION-RIDER INJURED

When pillion riding on a motor-cycle which collided with a motor-car on the Porirua Road about 9.30 last evening, Miss Thelma Wood, dressmaker, of Newlands, received severe lacerations to her right knee, abrasions and shock. She was brought to Johnsonville by Dr. Gray, of Kaponga, and conveyed to hospital by the Free Ambulance.

Evans Bay Swim. Two young men, D. Hassall, age 19, and K. Osborne, age 20, swam from Miramar Wharf to Evans Bay bathing sheds about midday on Sunday. The sea was fairly ehoppy and’ the water cold. The time was 55 minutes. Registration of Machine-guns.

The present record is held by Mr. G. Koshmitshy, the Australian champion, whose tally was 70 wins, 9 draws, 3 losses.
