Melbourne, Jan. 23.
Rain prevented play in the match England v. Country of Victoria at Ballarat until 2.30 p.m. The Country team lost eight wickets for 84 runs. Mitchell took four for 6; Tate, three for 20.
Tiie game was abandoned owing to rain at 4.25 p.m.
LEG-THEORY DISPUTE

The “Star” says that the M.C.C. will probably agree to refer the leg theory dispute to the Imperial Cricket Council, but will deprecate interference pending the conclusion of the Tests.
