YESTERDAY’S WEATHER
Overcast and Then Sunny
There were overcast conditions early yesterday at Wellington, with wind from the south. Light showers fell at midday, but toward the late afternoon the sky cleared and perfect summer conditions returned.
A light northerly wind and fine weather prevailed at Auckland, but the sky was. dull and cloudy and conditions close and humid. At Christchurch a dull morning was followed by a brilliant afternoon, a fresh sou’-wester giving place to a light east-north-east breeze. The maximum temperature was 64 degrees.
Conditions were overcast at Dunedin, followed by sunshine in the afternoon. The wind was light from the southwest.
