LAWN TENNIS

Manawatu Tourney

YESTERDAY’S RESULTS

Dominion Special Service. Palmerston North, Jan. 23. Those not completed wlill be finished on Saturday next. While yesterday’s rain did not hold up play this morning the courts were slippery and slow, and it was not until midday that there were sufficiently dried to provide a good playing surface. After a keen struggle Brown and Hahkin varied their play, judiciously interspersing high lobs with good length drives, McDonald and Boddy relying mainly on their smashing and volleying to win their points.
