BRITISH BY-ELECTION
Liverpool Exchange Seat
London, Jan. 20.
Owing to the death of Lieut.-Colonel Sir J. P. Reynolds, a by-election took place for the Liverpool Exchange seat, resulting in the return of Colonel J. J. Shute, Conservative, with 15,198 votes. Mr. S.-Silverman, representing Labour, polled 12,412 votes.
At the general election of 1931 Lieut.Colonel Sir J. P. Reynolds polled 24.038 votes, the Labour vote on that, occasion totalling 13,144.
