Discovery in Jockey’s Boot
FIVE YEARS’ SUSPENSION (Received Jan. 22, 6.30 p.m.) > Brisbane, Jan. 22. After an inquiry by the stipendiary steward, Mr. Wilson, and his colleagues, a jockey, W. Tucker, was disqualified for five years on a charge arising out. of the discovery of a battery in the jockeys’ room at the Albion Park races, and the fact that in the heel of a boot belou'-’ng to Tucker electric terminal points were subsequently found. Tucker declared that he bought the boots from an unknown man, and did not know anything about the terminal points being there.
