DANISH KETCH SAILS
Monsunen Continues on World Cruise COPENHAGEN VIA HORN The Danish ketch Monsunen, which put into Wellington, for repairs some weeks ago, while on a cruise round the world, left Wellington on Saturday afternoon for Copenhagen, via iCape Horn. The vessel left her berth at the Queen’s Wharf at 10 a.m. on a short cruise round the harbour with a number of guests on board, this being Captain Knud Andersen’s way of expressing his gratitude to those who had helped him during his stay here. Shortly after 2 p.m. the Monsunen put her passengers ashore at the Aotea Quay breastwork, took on one of her crew, and then left on her long trip to Copenhagen. Captain Andersen is a well-known Danish author and lecturer and' his trip round the world is to gather material for a new book. While in Wellington he gave a number of lectures on the little vessel’s cruise. The trip to Copenhagen is expected to take about 125 days.
