SUPERB BOWLS
Sydney Visitor Impressed A Sydney visitor who has been staying in Wellington while the New Zealand bowling tournament has been in progress, Mr. J. Emanuel, is taking away with him a high opinion of the standard of bowling in New Zealand. He was for several years a selector to important clubs in Sydney and has been an active player for 25 years. Mr. Emanuel said he had never seen any finer bowling than he had at the recent tournament in the singles, pairs and rinks. He was greatly impressed with the quality of Rendle’s team from Eastbourne. The bowling in the semifinals of the singles, was brilliant, the two games producing even a higher standard than the final. Many of the games in the post-section play of the rinks, and the final in particular, were games to be long remembered, and in his opinion the success of Naylor’s team from Lyall Bay in winning the rinks championship with two lives in hand was a performance of the greatest merit: Mr. Emanuel intends spending several weeks yet touring the Dominion.
