Keen competition between some of the world's finest cinder track riders was witnessed by a crowd of about 3000 at Western Springs Speedway last evening. Times were generally good and there were many exciting contests. A. Mattson, Dominion champion, crashed heavily when his motor seized in the second event. He eseaped with a bruised shoulder and took part in later races. The race between E. Langton, world’s champion, and W. Phillips, challenger for the gold helmet, hdd by Langton, proved one of the finest of the evening. Phillips winning by a narrow margin after Langton had led most of the distance.
