SOUTHERN CROSS VISIT
Gisborne Makes Holiday By Telegraph—Press Association. Gisborne, Jan. IS. The weather is gloriously fine for the visit of the Southern Cross, which arrived this afternoon. Sir Charles Kingsford Smith was welcomed by the Mayor and the presidents of the R.S.A. and Aero Club in the presence of a large crowd. The town is mostly making holiday for the occasion. Flights will be conducted from Waikanae beach, which gives a longer runway than that at the aerodrome.
