In the Church of England Diocesan office at Napier is a charming little letter from three young members of an English family, living in London. The letter, which is extremely brief, is written not long after the full details of the loss of Napier Cathedral reached England. In it the children explain that they had read about the destruction of the church property, and wanted to help; accordingly they each enclosed 5/-, representing part of the cost of an annual holiday, which they were prepared to forgo.
