Strong General Competition (Received Jan. 18, 9.50 p.m.) Sydney, Jan. IS. At the Sydney wool sales to-day 11,422 bales were offered, of which 10,684 were sold by auction and 2344 disposed of privately. There was very strong general competition. The market ruled equal to the previous day for all descriptions. Greasy merino sold to 181 d. DAIRY PRODUCE PRICES Butter and Cheese Markets Quiet The New Zealand Producers’ Co-opera-tive Marketing Association’s weekly cabled market report, from London, dated January 17, is as follows:—Butter: Market quiet; New Zealand finest grade, 81/-; first grade. 80/-; Danish, 102/- to 104/-. Cheese: Market quiet; New Zealand, white, 47/- to 48/-; coloured, 56/- to 57/-; Canadian, white aud coloured, 58/to 66/-. FROZEN MEAT TRADE Display of Australian Lambs London, Jan. 17. The Angliss Proprietary’s 300 Victorian lambs and 49 from Maryborough's were displayed in Smithfield, and their appearance and quality greatly pleased the experts.
