CHARGE OF MURDER
Maori Youth Remanded UNDER OBSERVATION By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Jan. 17. A .Maori youth. Kiri Manuel, aged 17. was charged at the Auckland Police Court this morning thut on January 8, al Kaitnia, lie murdered Hat! Wira Houkomau Riipihana. Detective-Sergeant McHugh obtained a remand to January 24. He said accused was in Auckland for observation. Mr. C. A. Sueddeu appeared for accused. As a result of being shot in the side while sleeping in bed at 4.30 on tlie morning of January 8, Hati Kapihriim (Mr. Hati Robson), a wellknown .Maori dairy farmer, of Puketoto, near Haitai, died in Knitaia Hospital at one o’clock in the afternoon.
