DROPPING VOLTAGE
Elimination Hint for Owners A few years ago, H.T. battery elirain- ! a tors for operation on A,C. mains were i often supplied with untapped power transformer primaries; in other words, 1 their input voltage rating was definitely fixed by the makers. The voltage required by many readers possessing such' appliances will ’ doubtless have been altered since the time that the eliminator was obtained, but this does pot mean of necessity that it will be useless. By inserting a voltage-absorb-ing resistance of suitable value in the mains lead the instrument may be adapted to work on the higher voltage. The resistance needed may be roughly estimated.
