Two Men Fined £5O Each By Telegraph—Press Association. Greyinouth, Jan. 16. In the Police Court, Alfred Henry Chuinm and Daniel McCarthy were charged with using premises as a common gaming house. They pleaded guilty, and were lined £5O each. Tlie magistrate, Mr. W. Meldriiiii, said that betting was carried on tliroughout New Zealand in spile of the law and heavy penalties. It would probably continue to be carried on.
