FARMER’S WINDFALL
Long Forgotten Account . SAVINGS BANK MONEY Dominion Special Service. Hamilton, Dec. 21. Welcome news was received by Mr. If. AV. Cleland, of Gordontoii, when he learned that a forgotten sum of money placed to liis credit in. the Post Office Savings Bank by relatives when ho was It years old. was available for collection, together with accumulated interest. The amount now totals about £BO. Mr. Cleland, who received the news on his 60th birthday, signed a declaration before a justice of the peace in Hamilton to-day stating that he was Hie person in whose name the account stands. He had completely forgotten about the deposit, and cannot recall the amount of Hie original credit. He was traced through his bunkers. It will be some weeks, probably, before the account is transferred to Hamilton and Mr. Cleland is able to lift the money.
Mr. Cleland has been farming _ a large area in the Gordonton district for many years.
