Scene in Queensland Assembly MEMBER ASSAULTED (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright.) Brisbane, Dec. 14. A member of tho Legislative Assembly assaulted another member while the House was in session. This is the first incident of the kind In the history of the Queensland Parliament While the House was in Committee, Mr. E. Llewelyn (Labour) said that Mr. E. Maher (Country Party) had a filthy mind. Mr. Maher walked across the Chamber and struck Mr. Llewelyn on the face. Mr. Maher was suspended for the remainder of the session. Later the Premier moved that Mr. Maher be summoned to attend at the. Bar of the House to answer a charge of having assaulted Mr. Llewelyn. This was agreed to. WAVING A GUN Armed Man in Congress STARTLED MEMBERS Washington, Dec. 13. A man giving the name of Martin Kremerer, from Allentown, Pennsylvania, stood up in the gallery of the House of Representatives to-day, covering the floor with a revolver. One foot over the rail, he waved the gun toward the members. Representatives looked upward, startled. Some headed for the Cloakrooms. “I want the floor for a few minutes,” the man shouted. He stood for a few moments waving the gun, and then Representative Melvin Maas (Republican), of Minnesota, walked across the Chamber directly below him and said: “Throw down that gun.” The man pitcher the gun to Mr. Maas, who caught it. The police rushed into the gallery, seizing the man, and the House resumed its proceedings.
