EXHIBITION OF PAINTINGS. By a Wellington Artist. Seldom is the public privileged to see a collection of pictures of merit comparable with the exhibition of Miss Iva McEldowney, in the Lounge at Kirkcaldie’s. Miss McEldowney . has chosen the medium of black and white penwork, combined in some cases with colour wash. The result is vivid and harmonious, with a strength and freedom that is all too rare in pen-drawings. Some Dutch fragments of Landscape and Interior, and a series of studies of the Majorcan scenes and Peasantry form the major part of the Exhibition. The variety of the studies, and the strength and facility with which the varying groups are expressed will interest artists and connoisseurs. This collection is to be viewed in the First Floor Lounge, adjoining the Tea Rooms, at Kirkcaldie and Stains, Ltd., entirely free of charge.
