BRIGHT SPOTS IN THE NEWS
There was a sharp firming in the prices of fat lambs at the Addington live stock market in Christchurch yesterday. Values at other sales in the Dominion were generally steady.
Tiie complete agreement reached in the Wellington linesmen’s dispute yesterday is the second, reorded in two days. Yesterday the carpenters and joiners’ settlement was announced.
There was another good clearance at the Sydney wool sales yesterday, prices being very firm under good competition.
Prices of copper and other non-fer-rous metals showed an improvement in London on Tuesday.
