PROSPERITY EFFORTS
View of Drapery Trade
WIDER SCOPE FAVOURED The view that in lieu of localised prosperity campaigns there should be a Dominion-wide effort is expressed in the official organ of the New Zealand Federation of Drapers, Clothiers and Boot Retailers. “Is there no superorganiser in the country who would undertake such a campaign?” the article says. “Imagine a Dominion-wide effort, every city, town and village participating at one and the same time in an endeavour to restore confidence — ‘queens,’ processions, sports, organised play for children, special window displays, decorated streets, and all the rest of it—a great New Zealand Prosperity Week! Why not?”
