ST. JOHN NURSING GUILD
Helping the Sick Poor At the recent meeting of the District Nursing Guild of St. John full arrangements were made for the customary Christinas treat for the sick poor of Wellington. An excellent dinner will be provided for each household visited by the nurses, as well as other comforts which arc thought to be necessary, and toys for the children. The nurses’ report showed that to had teen admitted, during November, 11 discharged, 3 sent to hospital, 31 remaining on register; sisters’ visits to homes, 146; patients’ visits to surgery, 199; and number on register, 6579. The following amounts for the general fund have been received: —Lady Myers, £l. 1/-; Airs. A. A. Corrigan, £l/1/- (subscription) : and Mr. 1., 4/-. The following donations for the Christmas cheer fund have been received:—Mrs. L. Blundell, £1; Airs. J. Brownlee. £.l: A Friend (per Mrs. Lissack), 10/-; pupils of Koropiko School, 10/-; Miss C. J. Donaldson, 5/-; Misses Kenny, Willett, and Reed, 15/-; Miss Nathan, 2/6; and A Erieud, 2/6. Christmas donations for relief of distress Mesdames Corrigan and W. Young, £l/1/- each; Miss Young, fl 1/-; Mesdames ShJrtcliffe and Doctor, £ I each; Afcsdames E. Luke and MacDonald Wilson, 10/- each. The nurses also acknowledge gifts of clothing, food, literature, and old linen from Afcsdames Addlcy. Hill, J. Morrison, Daniel, Boyle, C. Smith, Stace, Illingworth, and Barltrop, Misses Levy, C. Young. Egllnton, Hardy, Cheetham, Hardy. Moyes, Shears, Atkins, and per Miss Raynor, Busy Bee Club, Kbandallah Sick Poor Guild, Koropiko School, and Rowland Cake Kitchen.
