Waitaki, who made 318 in the first innings, and 24 for none in tbe second (R. D. Dick not out 17) won by 10 wickets. Southland in tbe first innings made 162 (Uttiey 42. Mackrell 30, .. Stewart 25, Carswell 21). For Waitaki, y Smith took four for 54 aud J. S. Dick four for 36. 2 In the second innings. Southland compiled 178 (Spcnce*B3, Carswell 25. Campbell 25).
