SANDERS CUP TRIALS
Eligibility of Yachtsman Rather a curious position arose nt last evening’s meeting of the Wellington Provincial Yacht and Motor-boat Association when a letter was received from the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club complaining that a member of the crew of Sue-lem in the first race of the Sanders Cup was an unfinancial member of the club. It was pointed out by the chairman, Mr. O. A. Moller, that apparently the only course open to the association was for it to write Io the Port Nicholson club reprimanding it for having allowed an iinfiuancial member to race in the boat, which the club itself nominated. The member had no right to be in the bdat, and the skipper of the boat was responsible. “I maintain that the Port Nicholson club was responsible for its own boat and crew until the start of tin* race.” Mr. Moller said. “I think the club is ‘off-side’.” The letter was received and no action was taken.
