PEACE CAMPAIGN
Prize for Best Advertisement The Canterbury Amortising Club executive has decided to accept the responsibility of conducting the “Hamilton World Peace Advertising Competition,” for which a prize of five guineas has been donated by Mr. F. H. Hamilton, of Redcliffs. Thq prize is to be awarded for the best advertisement, suitable for newspaper or poster purposes, entered by a resident of New Zealand, designed to “sell” the Idea of peace. The donor has pointed out that advertising of various kinds was used to kindle a militant spirit during the war time, and is of opinion that the influence of advertising can be just as effective in the opposite direction.
Messrs. F. H. Walls and J. J. Staples will act as a sub-committee to draft conditions governing the competition, which will be advertised throughout New Zealand.
