Stubbs—Wingate

The wedding was celebrated recently at All Saints’ Church, Palmerston North, of Lulu Eunice, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Wingate, of Palmerston North, and Arthur George, elder son of Dlrs, and the late Mr. Arthur Stubbs, of Hillsboro Terrace, Hamilton. 'White foxgloves, love-iu-the-mist, and roses decorated the church. The ceremony-Atas performed by Canon G. Y. M'oodward.

The bride, who was escorted by her .father, wore a handsome gown of floral creme angel skin lace over creme georgette. moulded to the figure. Frilled godets gave added fulness at the knees, and the neckline, V-shaped at the back, had a cowl front. The long sleeves, puffed at the shoulder, were fitting and pointed over the wrists. The lovely veil was gaught in position with orange blossom sprays, similar flowers being worn on the shoulder. The bride s bouquet was of deep cream roses. The bridesmaid, Miss Connie Berry, of Napier, wore an attractive dress of salmon pink and green floral georgette, her bouquet being of multi-coloured roses. Her shoes and hat, of green, wore to tone. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. Leslie Stubbs, of Hamilton. , , A reception, attended only by near friends and relatives, was held in the Rosco tea rooms. Mrs. Wingate wore a black georgette and lace frock under a black coat, her hat being of plaited straw with cire trimming. A bouquet of scarlet Etoile d’Holland roses was carried. Mrs. Stubbs wore a black marocain dress trimmed with beige buttons and georgette, and a smart black hat. Flowers in shades of blue and gold composed her bouquet.
