ROWING CLUB DANCE
Wellington’s Final Gathering Last Saturday evening the Wellington Rowing Club’s dance room presented a festive appearance for the final club dance of the year, when about 140 guests were entertained. The artistic manner in which the hall was decorated with the club’s colours—maroon and white—and the execution of the details reflected credit on the committee responsible for the organisation. At the conclusion of the dance the appreciation of all present was expressed toward the social committee, the personnel of which was Misses P. Watt, M. Gray. N. Collins, and A. Pickup, Messrs. J. Beasley (secretary), A. Bamford, T. Lancaster. E. Cockayne. S. Riley, and M. O’Sullivjm. The Kit Kat Dance Orchestra was responsible for the music, and Mr. R. Meech looked after the guests. A humorous recitation by Miss Vi Wilson was and the dance concluded with a surprise streamer and novelty Merry Mix-up, and the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.”, Among those present were: Misses P. Watt.
