Colonel Freyberg’s Qualities EXAMPLE TO THE YOUNG Standing in tho Memorial Hall of Wellington College last evening, the Mayor of Wellington. Mr. T. C. A. Hislop, himself an old boy of the school, confessed that many memories came to his mind. Standing out in particular, however, was the memory of one who in 1914 joined up with the Naval Brigade at Antwerp, and displayed the most extraordinary qualities of leadership and courage, which won him great fame. He was referring to Colonel B. C. Freyberg, who won the V.C. and the D. and who was now on the General Staff of the War Office. To all boys, .Mr. Hislop added, he would suggest that the same qualities displayed b,v Colonel Freyberg could bo displayed in the smallest as well as the greatest things in national life, and whatever job it might fall to their lot ■to do. let them do it in a manlier which would give not only the maximum of success, but also the greatest amount of pleasure.
