BIMA TO SOURABAYA (Received Dec. 13, 0.55 a.m.) Sourabaya, Dec. 12. Captain Bertram arrived at Bima today and left for Sourabaya, where he landed at 6.40 p.m., local time. AEROPLANE SMASHED Herbert Crashes at Speed Brisbane, Dec. 12. The airman Mr. J. R. Herbert, who was making a leisurely flight to Sydney, crashed at Cloncurry in endeavouring to avoid a flock of goats. The aeroplane, which landed at a terrific speed, was badly smashed, but Mr. Herbert was uninjured.
