Murders in Peshawar MAJOR CRIME PREVALENT Calcutta, Dec. 9. The District Magistrate's report upon his administration for 12 months states that of every 100 adult deaths in the Peshawar district, 2.5 persons die by violence. The number of murders iu the Peshawar district is approximately equal to that of New York, which has a population seven times larger. The prevalence of major crimes is regarded as due to the spirit of anarchy and the preachings of Abdul Ghaffer Khan, the “Red Shirt” leader, who is now a State prisoner.
