ROADS BUILT OF GLASS. Roads of glass are being built for motor traffic in Czeeho-Slovakia. Two experimental stretches of highway, constructed by spreading a mixture of glass powder and cement on a damp concrete base and then saturating it with water glass, have been under test for several months. The results are said to show that the new type of road will withstand wear and pressure. The l glass and. concrete mixture sets so rapidly that it is reported that a highway can be opened to heavy traffic within two or three days after it has been laid.
