TARANAKI PIONEER
Now Living in Wellington Saturday last was the 90th anniversary of the arrival of the ship Blenheim at New Plymouth with pioneer settlers on November 19, 1842. The voyage from Plymouth, -England, occupied 140 days. ' / Of the Blenheim’s passengers t he only survivor to-day is Mrs. Mary: Hamerton (widow of Mr. R. Chisnell Homerton) who is residing at Central Terrace, Keiburn, Wellington. Many friends in New Plymouth have . sent Mrs. Hamerton telegrams of congratulation, and the Mayor of New Plymouth (Mr. 11. V. S. Griffiths) also sent her a congratulatory message on t.a.-alf of the citizens generally.
