' For the Seasick Traveller The one thing which is important to prevent sea-sickness, according to an English authority, is to oat ample. The foods you particularly want to eat are the sweet and starchy foods, for these are the foods, above all others, which counteract the condition known -as “acidosis,” which tends to produce nausea. The other point is not to let your stomach get empty. Get your steward to bring you tea and biscuits iu the morning—for that is the most dangerous time, between getting out of bed and having breakfast. Moreover, put lots of sugar in your tea. At breakfast eat cereals and plenty of bread and marmalade. At lunch eat potatoes and puddings. Tea time, drinksweet tea with bread and butter and cake. Aqd at dinner time again eat plenty of sweet things. Before going to bed have a eup of tea and biscults. Ample food with lots of starch and sugar is the secret of not being seasick.
