Registration of Poultry
Sir, —1 am another poultryfarmer who cannot see any benefit to be obtained by registration—only fresh billets at the expense of an industry which at the moment is making a present of £25,400 according to the Parliamentary report. To whom? Mr. Semple asked the question and got another (?) answer. The requirement most urgent in this industry at the present time is to be allowed through their own merchants to import wheat free with no red tape cutting in. By doing this they could land best fowl wheat for 3/9 a bushel and compete against any other country in the egg market. I for one do not wish to see an egg board. We have seen enough of these boards in dairy, meat, etc.—l am, etc., F.H.C. Paraparaumu, November 17.
