HUTT COUNTY RATES
Money Coming in Slowly Au appeal to ratepayers to assist the council in facing a difficult financial year was made yesterday at the monthly meeting of the Hutt County Council. The chairman, Mr. D. R. Hoggard, briefly reviewed the present position. “The total amount of rates for the current year that has been collected in the ItTfet nine weeks is £7019/10/8,” Mr, Hoggard said. “The total of rates levied amounts to £20,738/12/3. The final demands are to be issued at the end of this month. "The position must necessarily cause us some concern, and it is to be hoped that those who have not paid will do so soon, as the council is bound to be faced I with difficulties as the year progresses if we do not get more money in."
