DAIRY LICENSES
Control of Factories Licenses to operate dairy factories are now required in accordance with an Order-in-Council gazetted last evening. The licenses will be issued by the Director of the Dairy Division of the Department of Agriculture, who will be advised by a committee of three to be appointed by the Minister of Agriculture. The committee is empowered to make investigations regarding applications for licenses, and to report on the necessity for an additional dairy factory in any particular area. The prospects of successful business and the effects of competition on the quality of dairy produce in competing factories are also matters within the provision of the committee.
