CAR ALLOWANCES
City Council Officials TRANSPORT IN OWN CARS City Council officers who require constant or regular transport are to be permitted, if they so desire, to provide their own motor-cars on an allowance basis. . ... The council decided last evening that the following officers who are prepared to supply and operate their own cars be granted annual allowances as under z—F. N. Thompson, assistant engineer, £lB2 ~ K E Luke, assistant engineer, £156. E.' R. McKillop, assistant engineer, £lB2 L." S. Drake, superintendent cleansing, transport and traffic, £156. C. G. Swinburne, assistant drainage i and" waterworks engineer, £lB2. G S. Leeder, district engineer, £lB2. G' I. B. Thomas, district engineer, £lB2 The Mayor, Mr. T. C. A. Hislop, said that the new scheme involved a considerable reduction in the number of cars owned by the council. The saving was estimated at £l4OO for the full year.
