SHUNTING FATALITY
Engine-driver Killed ACCIDENT AT TAIHAPE By Telegraph.—Press Association. Taihape, Oct. 31. An engine-driver, Frederick William Atkins, was killed at Taihape on Saturday night. He fell in front of the engine as it was shunting, and was pushed along by the cowcatcher, being badly crushed internally. He died on the way to hospital. Mr. Atkins was married with three children, and had been stationed at Taihape for eighj gears , At the inquest to-day, a verdict of accidental death was given, no blame being attachable to anyone.
