ARMISTICE DAY
Arrangements Completed
LONDON’S OBSERVANCE
Official Wireless Rugby, Oct. 29. Arrangements for the celebration of Armistice Day on Friday, November 1.1, have been completed, and the details have been forwarded to all parts of the Empire. It is hoped that there will be, as In previous years, a general co-operation in the observance of the anniversary. According to the present arrangements the King will attend the central celebrations at the Cenotaph in Whitehall, and shortly before the service begins the King and Duke of York will lay wreaths at the base of the memorial. Wreaths will subsequently be laid on behalf of other members of the Royal Family and of his Majesty’s Governments of the United Kingdom, the Dominions, India, the colonies and protectorates, and on behalf of the services.
Two minutes’ silence at 11 a.m. win as usual precede the service, and the silence will be ended with the sounding of the “Last Post.” A short service will bring the ceremony to a close.
