EGGS STILL PLENTIFUL

Another small reduction in the price of sugar has brought it down to 13/per 701 b. bag, although the price per pound remains at 2Jd. Eggs are still plentiful, and are still selling at 1/and 1/1 a dozen. . Spinach is cheaper than last week, and the reduction is shared by green peas and new potatoes. Apples are rather dearer, at 4d. and 6d. for tha first grade dessert fruit, and cooking apples also reflect the upward tendency. Mandarins are very cheap, at 6d. to 1/- a dozen, and American grapes can be bought at 1/- a pound.. Island oranges and tomatoes are scarcer and will not be on the market very much longer. Spring lamb is cheaper, at TO. to 9d. a pound, and corned beef is now priced at 4d. to tid.
