Bethune, Christchurch, who has' been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Cecil Quane,' Wellington, returned to Christchurch at the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Griffiths Lewer, Christchurch, arrived in Wellington on Saturday and will leave to-day by the Makura for Rarotonga. Miss C. Hynes, Otahuna, who has been visiting Wellington, returned to the South island -at the end of the week. Miss Isabel Gullett, of Sydney, who is going on a holiday trip to Rarotonga, arrived in 'Wellington by the Makura yesterday. „ , Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Turrell, Halswell Street. will leave for Christchurch on Friday for Cup week. Mrs. Turrell will be the guest of Mrs. Buchanan for a week or two. Mrs. Kenneth Ballantyne, who has been in Wellington to meet her sister, Mrs. S. T. Fripp, London, returned to Christchurch with her sister at the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Vivian Riddiford, “Woburn,” Lower Hutt, and Miss Pamela Riddiford, returned yesterday by the Makura after a holiday visit to Australia, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Carter, Karori, left yesterday, with their two small daughters, for a motor trip in the Wairarapa and Manawatu districts. They expect to be away for about a fortnight.
