Airs.. Strauchou, of Dannevirke, is visiting Wellington. Miss H. Randell, of Wellington, is on a visit to Christchurch. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Inwood, of Christchurch, are visiting Wellington. Sir Thomas and Lady Sidey will return from Dunedin early in the week. Mr. and Mrs. Philip Hume, Christchurch, have returned home after a week’s visit to Wellington. Mrs. C. D. Saxton, Miss Margaret Carr and Miss Gladys Carlyle, .Sydney, are at the Hotel St. George. Miss L. M. Wilkinson, of Christchurch, spent the week-end in Wellington and will return south to-night. Miss Cora Wilding. St. Martins, Christchurch, arrived in Wellington at the week-end to spend a few days. Mrs. Hazelwood, Dunedin, is the guest of Mrs. S. J. Moore, Bidwell Street, Wellington. Mrs. Wills, who returned from the north on Friday, will leave to-night for Christchurch.
Miss M. Speed, Koromiko, Marlborough; and Miss V. Norman, Auckland, are at the Royal Oak Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. H. Crawford, Miramar, have returned from a short visit to Hawke's Bay. Miss Hood-Hammond, Sydney, and Miss T. Macindoe, Auckland,- are at the Midland Hotel. Mrs? Arthur Barnett, Central Terrace, Kelburn, left yesterday to spend a fortnight as the guest of Mrs. Walter Fell, Karere, Palmerston North. The Bishop of Waiapu, the lit. Rev. H. W. Williams, and Mrs. Williams, Napier, arc the guests of Canon J. It. Wilford, College House, Christchurch. Mrs. Stephen Gillingham and her children have gone back to Fairlie after a short stay with Miss Daisy Ewart, Karori.
Mrs. George Shirtcliffc. Tinakori Road, and her guest, Mrs. Bassett, Ireland, motored back from Palmerston North on Saturday. Madame Annette Chapman, who has been engaged to broadcast recitals from each of the YA stations, arrived here from Christchurch yesterday for her Initial recital from 2YA this evening. Miss Dora West, 0.8. E., was the guest of the English Speaking Union at afternoon tea on Friday, October 2S. Miss Kano welcomed the guest of honour, who gave a most, interesting talk which was much enjoyed by all present. Musical items were rendered by Mrs. King and Mrs. Garnham. Mrs. AV. E. Lavelle and Miss H. Anscombe were hostesses for the afternoon.
