SCIENTIST’S MOTHER
Celebrates Ninetieth Birthday By Telegraph.—Press Association. New Plymouth, Oct. 29. Mrs. James Rutherford, mother of Lord Rutherford of Nelson, the famous scientist, wdll to-morrow celebrate her 90th birthday. She enjoys remarkably good health and clearly remembers when she landed at Auckland 68 years ago. Mrs. Rutherford lived in New Plymouth till forced to go to Nelson to take refuge from the Maoris. Subsequently she lived at Spring Grove and Foxhlll, Nelson, and Havelock in Marlborough. In 1887 she returned to New Plymouth.
