COLLIDED WITH GIRL
bchoolboy I ataily Injured CYCLE IN STEEP STREET Dominion Special Service. Dunedin, Oct. 28. A serious accident resulting in the death of a schoolboy and grave injuries to a young girl occurred shortly after mid-day to-day. While cyling down York Place, Stewart Ikln, a Technical College pupil, collided with a girl named Molly Turner at the corner of Smith Street, and in the resultant fall from the machine received injuries that proved fatal. The street in which the accident occurred is a fairly steep one, and following the collision the boy is said to I have struck his head heavily on a kerb. Immediate steps were taken to remove the victims to hospital. On arrival there it was found that the boy had died on the way, and the girl, who was unconscious on admission, was suffering from severe head Injuries and concussion. Her condition was reported to be grave. The boy was 15 years of age, and lived witii his parents at Dalmore. The girl’s parents live in Clyde Street. An inquest was formally opened this afternoon.
