Several Governments have already made gifts of furniture and panelling for the equipment of the League of Nations’ new building at Geneva, and the British Government has under consideration the making of some such voluntary contribution. Dr. Otto Braun presided at a meeting of the deposed Prussian Cabinet which decided on Cabinet’s right and duty to conduct business within the Leipzig Court’s decisions; which disallowed the deprivation of the deposed Ministers of their rights to represent Prussia on the Council of the Reich or in the Prussian Diet. South African Loan. The terms of the Union of South Africa’s £8 million loan, issued at 96} with interest at 3} per cent., indicate that the Union’s gold standard policy has not affected its credit in relation to sterling. Canadian Wheat Exports. Wheat exports from Vancouver doubled those of 1931 on Wednesday, totalling 18,000,000 bushels. Bookings to the end of December total 14,000,000 bushels, 11,000,000 for Britain, the balance for the Orient. Earthquake in Victoria. An earth tremor, the west experienced there, occurred at Boort, Victoria. The residents hurriedly left their homes when the buildings rocked, plaster fell from the walls, and windows and crockery were broken. There was no serious damage.
