Jialf-a-citpful to every tivo cups of liquid will be sufficient to thicken the soup so that flour is unnecessary, and the flavour will be better than if flour were used. The bread-pan should be washed regularly, at least once a wick, or the bread will acquire a. musty taste, especially in warm weather; but be sure to leave the lid off so that the pan is thoroughly dry and aired before putting the bread in again. Foiled custard made from custard powder will have a much richer taste if a little butter is added after cooking. Cold boiled custard will be creamier in flavour if beaten up for a few minutes before serving.
