French and German Restrictions EFFORTS FOR RELAXATION (Rec. October 26, 5.5 p.m.) Official Wireless Rugby, Oct- 25. Questioned in the House of Commons to-day regarding negotiations with France and Germany on the restrictions ijnposed upon imported British coal in those countries, the president of the Board of Trade, Mr. W. Runciman, said the representations made to the French Government were directed toward securing that the British coal export trade should receive treatment not less favourable than that accorded to other countries exporting coal to France. That object had been achieved. The German Government had now suggested that the question of restriction of the import of British coal should be discussed between the two Governments.
