St. Patrick’s, Silverstream STIFF SOUTHERLY Effect on the Racing Some 200 people attended the annual sports of St. Patrick's College, Silverstream, which were held in the college grounds yesterday. A stiff southerly wind was blowing, and this no doubt affected the racing. In the discus event M. Brennan established a record with a throw of 116 ft lin. The following cups and trophies were won :—College grand handicap challenge cup, for the highest aggregate in the 100 yards, 220 yards, and 440 yards, G. L. Three new records were established at the Otago Boys’ High School sports held to-day. C. Reid lowered by l-ssec. and 2-ssec. respectively the records for 100 yards under 14, which stood for 36 yearjs, and the 220 yards under 14. G. JI. Spence broke the existing record of 11 1.-ssec. for the 100 yards (under 16) by l-ssec. The senior cup was. won by A. S. Thompson and the junior by C. M. Forrester.
