Griffiths would be leaving for Wellington this week for the purpose of putting before the New Zealand Association Auckland's claims to a match with the American team. Mr. H. R. Baigent said that the Australian association preferred that the American team should not play a match in New Zealand before their arrival in Australia, and it would be policy to study Australia’s wishes in the matter; otherwise the duration of the Americans’ tour in the Dominion might be curtailed. It was decided to take no action iu the matter. Question of Ranking. Mr. W. Stirling submitted a scheme for ranking players, which Jed to a general discussion. Mr. H. Burns said the question of ranking was the most difficult problem the association had to deal with. It was decided to hold a special meeting to go into the question.
